Premise: Most days tend to have an inevitable flavor-of-the-day topic that springs a flurry of tweets and memes on the timeline with everyone voicing their opinion and often dropping alpha and valuable insight. However, this space moves fast and those takes can quickly be forgotten about. Instead, we’re aiming to help cultivate, catalog and organize the hottest narratives and themes among the Crypto community in our Illuminati Archives. For that, we need YOU. We’re providing the platform and we need your hot takes.
We’re posing relevant and thought-provoking questions and topics to the crypto community and highlighting the best submissions in our new Op-Ed newsletter series. Instead of the chaos and disorder of the Twitter timeline algorithm, this is a step towards helping to drive and organize the overarching public discussion on the most relevant narratives, themes, and trends in crypto. Most importantly, we’re looking to involve the community. We want to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly. Unfiltered and raw from those living and breathing crypto every day.

Current Hot Topic Issue:
Aptos and Solana have been gaining momentum, hype and attention in the past several months. Let’s hear the Crypto community’s honest and unrestrained opinions and what they’re looking forward to for these upcoming L1s.
TL:DR:
- Most CT natives view it as another VC infested play. Another alt L1 cycle that’ll come with their own ecosystems and the same story we saw with Solana. Backed and shilled by big name investors to retail.
- VCs are eager to get access to the early stage projects being built so they can repeat the playbook from the last bull run.
- Retail Degens are excited for another narrative that they may be able to profit from
- “Jason Choi stated, technology superiority alone almost never wins — success also depends on business development, go-to-market. Technology needs to translate into performance then results”
Negative Takes:
Couldn't be arsed to read about Aptos or Sui, but those shilling it because Move - why does this need a new, insecure L1? Can't we just have a Move-based rollup? No need to kill Solana, just be a Move-based rollup on Solana, collaboration > selfishness

The new Solana style pumps will be Aptos and Sui once they launch their shitcoins. They will *absolutely* be VC backed pump and dumps but if you get the timing right there may be money to be made. Keep an eye out.

Solana killer / Aptos vs. Sui / etc are all narratives created by media / crypto Twitter / VCs to pump bags
In reality, there's a lot of collaboration happening between devs across ecosystems to experiment with new tech!

Everyone knows Aptos and likely Sui will be a VC fuck fest. Will it be more like Solana where token outperforms entire eco due to eco dumping or Near where main token gets dumped so hard microcaps outperform? Let’s see.
